Hendrix was awesome! I don't really like the others you mentioned. I like classic rock as well.

Janis Joplin - Heroin Overdose, age 27 (10/4/1970)
Jimi Hendrix - Barbituate Overdose, age 27 (9/18/1970)
Elvis Presley - Heart Attack, age 42 (8/16/1977)

Ritchie Valens - Plane Crash , age 17 (2/3/1959)
The Big Bopper - Plane Crash, age 28 (2/3/1959)

Yup..me too..

Wow my era! I got to see Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Chambers Brothers all together in person in New York for $4.00. I did not know at that time I was seeing history in the making. It was the most fabulous concert and sadly I had no camera. I wish I could share the real Hendrix experience in words here!!! All 3 bands blew us away as we sat in the 10th row.

I do feel sad that Jimi died and is now buried in upstate New York. Here is a great website on him

I lived in New York in the 60's and got to meet so many bands

Eric Burdon and the Animals (Eric still performing)

Dave Clark Five (met and worked for their fan club. Mikes Smith, played organ paralyzed from a fall, Denis on saxaphone died of cancer recently)

I have 3 great photos of Mike Smith, 2 of him alone (8x 10 autographed) and one of him and my friend wearing dolly rocker dresses~~the rage in the UK. I visited London in 1969 and went to the club the Beatles and Stones went to.

Jefferson Airplane had a house in San Franciso in the hippy Haight Asbury district and I saw it in 70's before it was sold.
