Black Women: What's Your Favorite Magazine?!

Question: I hate to sound racially divisive, but as with many issues in America, topics on beauty and fashion is probably just as racially divisive today as it was in the 40s. You won't find many magazines that cater to the interests of black women, especially young black teens.

Personally, I read both Essence for beauty tips on hair, skin, etc and I read Cosmopolitan for issues on fashion and relationships.

So again, black women: Which magazines do you enjoy? It doesn't have to be a beauty or fashion magazine, just any in general. And why do you read that magazine? Do you want more options or are you happy with the current selections that are available?

What about while growing up as a young teen (if you aren't already) - which magazines did you read then? If any?

Also, do you believe magazines are a bit overpriced? And who normally buys your magazines, you or your parent/guardian?

And lastly, are there any magazines that you refuse to buy? And Why?

Thanks for any anwers

When I was younger I read Seventeen because there was really no other magazine that I could relate to.But now that Im older, Im into Essence. They talk about issues that are goin on in different areas of the country that I would otherwise not know about.
I picked up some issues of VIBE just to see what was in there.Im not really into it.They talk about people like they are garbage without apologies. And they sound ignorant.I only bought Glamour once but ever since one of their editors stated that natural hair in the work environment was inappropriate, I wont be wasting my money anymore.
Yes magazines are getting expensive.
