Is black a colour?!
Question: Umm, Yeha i was told black wasnt a colour but a shade or rather an absebce of all colour. Someone told me this at school. Just give me you thoughts. yeah.

I consider it a color, so yes it is.
Sounds to me that the personal was being racist in my opinion; but YES "black" is a color no different than "red", "orange", "grey", "purple", and etc.

Black is what you get when all of the colors on the color wheel are combined. White is the absence of color.

despite what i've been taught, I think black is a color...it consists of all colors..........without all other colors.........there would be no black
Technically it's the absence of all color. Although, in the real world, black and white are viewed as colors even though "scientifically" they are not.
Black, as in pure black not brown-black etc, is an absence of colour. something that is black does not reflect any of the colours in the light spectrum (Red Orange Yellow Green Blue (Indigo) Violet) instead, it absorbs them all.
Something that is light reflects all of the colours.
Something that is red, reflects the red, but absorbs all the other colours. Something that is blue reflects blue and absorbs all the other colours and so on.
This is the scientific side anyway, and black and white skin are obviously not pure black or pure white, although sometime sthey may be close to it, and so this would not apply as above so strictly to skin colour.
