i think it may be because one of their featured articles in this month's issue is about the Kennedys....and like what the person who answered before me said....everyone likes the Kennedys...
so people will probably buy the magazine if they know that this months issue is featuring an article about the Kennedys

Camelot, the time that was the Kennedy's, is remembered as happier times in US history. There certainly were bad things happening in the world and even the US, but the American people as a whole loved the Kennedys. There were American royalty. Perhaps, Vanity Fair is reminiscing a time in history when the country loved it's leader and First Family.
I have the mag but I haven't read it...I don't have time right now. I'm really looking forward to reading the article.
