Any in-depth magazines?!

Any in-depth magazines?

I would like to know if there are any interesting magazines in the English speaking world that are very 'well-rounded'.

This is roughly what I'm looking for: a little bit of sciences, some articles on current world events, lots of research behind the articles, very few advertisements and especially very little about fashion and "test how attractive you are -test" -type of articles.
I think Readers' Digest ist quite close to what I'm looking for but I would like to know if there are more alternatives available. Magazine with a real content in an amusing way, not focusing on trivialities. Any suggestions?

I konw just what you're looking for...I recently discovered one myself...Seed magazine rocks!! It's a science & psychology mag...also Moment is pretty good if you're into Jewish culture & studies. =)
