What kind of stand would allow a news magazine to "stand" on a counter top?

if you just want it to be seen and not necessarily picked up and readily available for reading- say to advertise the magazine- there are fiberglass or plasit photo frames (I hope I decribe this well) it is one piece , the whole thing clear and is shaped like an l, the bottom part being the stand, the top part folded over so you could slide a picture or magazine in it - the picture or magazine is easily changed out- you can use a picture frame or one of those stands that are made to hold a book open and upright on a counter.
Depending on the magazine and how flimsy or not it is, you may be able to get a small basket and set it up in - if it is flimsy this wont work well
