Question:

How do you become a cartoon voice over artist?

People always tell me I have a cartoon character voice, so I would like to know how to use it to my advantage..

Answers:

Most voice character actors start in either film or theater work. It involves the same principles other than you are expected to put a little more depth in your voice because you really dont have the same expressions available that you would from a live performance.

To get into voice acting you really need to get yourself known as an actor and from there you get an agent who will help with getting you parts in cartoons and another popular front video games.

They dont hold alot of auditions for voice acting because the producers and casting directors can usualy pick their actors from a core group of voice actors or from people they have heard that click with them. Alot of voice actors will get calls from cartoon and video producers asking if they would be interested in reading for them. Rather then the producers doing auditions in the traditional method.

The other thing you can do is make a demo tape to send to some agents, film and video game companys if you think you have talent.

Over all get some solid acting experience before you try to launch a career in voice acting.
