I have an idea for a magazine that I think would sell well, but I don't know where to begin. I don't know anything about the publishing business. Has anyone here started a magazine and been successful at it?

There are books dedicated to this subject. You can even self-publish magazines these days. They say you must be dedicated, and expect a loss to start. Do a little research on the topic. Maybe visit forums that are related and do a little polling first. If it sounds good, start looking for your first advertisers. There is also the possibility of doing an zine. Looks just like a magazine but its a web only version.
Make sure you get your biz license and consult an attorney!
