What are the Critacisms of teenage magazines?!

Question:

What are the Critacisms of teenage magazines?

Answers:

Well a few criticisms would be that:

a. They perpetuate the idea that if you are not the perfect size, have the right hair and eye color, then you need to change, or you are not pretty. This promotes eating disorders and poor self-image.

b. They promulgate the belief that a girl must have a boyfriend in order to be validated. (For example, tons of articles written on how to get a boyfriend, how to keep one, etc...)

c. The articles, many times are written by middle age men and women so far out of touch with real teenagers.

d. Oftentimes, the models appearing in the magazines are beyond the teenage years; they are just made to look like teenagers. (Thus, an unattainable look for a teenager.)

e. Many times the so called "Advice" columns are laughable. How many times can they rehash that "supposed real letter" about virginity and tampons.

f. Continuing, many of the proposed "Fashion trends/Must haves" are not remotely in an affordable price range for their readers, or they are only available in some over-priced boutique either in Beverly Hills or New York City.

g. They are not the least bit selective with the advertisements that they allow in the backs of those magazines. They advertise everything from bust enhancement on... (a product that just plays on the insecurities of young girls)

The list could go on, I need to sign off for now.
