why are most magazines targeted towards women?

I beg to differ. The ones in my bathroom must be for lesbians then.... But the reason that it may seem that way is because those magazines have HUGE advertising budgets and are given top shelf placement. They pay for that honor. Women spend more time shopping and generally more money than men, thus the reason it can seem like so many more magazines are targeted toward women. Next time you go to the store look near the bottom shelves, it'll clear a few things up.
