What's on the magazine stands?!

Question:

What's on the magazine stands?

Earlier this week while at the grocery store, the sheer quantity of magazines devoted to hair styles caught my eye. There weren't just a couple, nor a few. My tender sensibilties were shocked, shocked I say, when my count passed a dozen with no sign of slowing. Exhausted, out of fingers, out of toes, I finally reached the end at 24 magazines dedicated to hair. Two dozen. A score and four

Just a few questions to ponder here (serious replies please)

2) Who is reading these things?

3) Will all these hair magazines have a detrimental affect on the follicly challenged amongst us?

4) Have you ever purchased one of these mags?

5) What, if anything, does this say about our society?

Answers:

There are a lot on mag stands. Gossip mags, hair (like you said), teen mags and more.

I don't really waste my time reading them that much. If a friend has one, I might look or skim through it. I don't get all crazy over the context inside them, though.

Okay, you're third question.. I don't have a clue what you're asking. x) Haha.

I never purchased a hair mag. If you're talking about mags period, then yeah. When I was younger, I used to get my dad to buy me those Disney Channel mags. Hahaa. But I stopped those, of course. I bought one J-14 mag, like, a long time ago and that's about it. Sometimes I would skim through a mag or two while in line, but I'd never buy them. To me, it's a waste of money.

In my opinion, it says about our society that we have intellectually stooped to a lower level. I mean, people today in this country are poring over these magazines, trying to keep up with the latest fashions, trends, and hair tips.

Because of these mags, and tv for that matter, people are changing their own image just to look like the stars that so many admire today. Anorexia, plastic surgery, all of that. What's so wrong with being yourself?
Why do you have to be like the people on tv?
Most stars today, behind the cameras (and on them), are so messed up. Really though, I still wonder why some want so much to be just like them & follow them in their footsteps.
I seriously don't know why teens, younger children, and probably adults buy into this superficial, pointless stuff.
I really do think that these things are poisoning our minds,
when you could make something important of yourself rather than sticking your nose in a magazine all the time.
