What is TIME magazine's Automatic Renewal Program?!

Question:

What is TIME magazine's Automatic Renewal Program?

I simply don't understand what it does. You can go to www.time.com to check it out

Answers:

You put in your credit or debit card information or PayPal account and your account will be charged $1.99 and you will recieve 6 issues over 6 weeks.

If you do not cancel within that 6 week period - you will then be charged $19.95 for 6 months (which is 28 issues). Every 6 months you will be charged an unknown rate (whatever they say is the lowest rate - it could be $19.95 unless they raise the price) for another 6 months of issues. They will continue to charge your account every 6 months and you will continue to receive another 6 months of issues indefinitely until you tell them not to.

If you choose to cancel - you have 2 options. One is to not renew going forward. In that case they will no longer charge your account and your issues will stop when the 6 months you have are finished. Two is you cancel in the middle of your 6 month subscription. If you want the issues to immediately stop - you can request that (keep in mind that magazines work a few weeks in advance of issue date and you may get a few more issues after your phone call). You will then get a refund on all unmailed copies. So for the 28 issues - if you have received 10 - the 18 copy refund would be $12.83. ($19.95/28 = $0.7125 per copy x the remaining issues).

I hope this helps.
