Question:

Why do you think NME is revolutionary or successful any idea plz?

Answers:

Since it's first issue in March 1952, NME's success has largely been down to sticking to 'safe' areas of music and the associated fan-bases.

Although NME has had it's fair share of original ideas and features - particularly it's inclusion of a music chart which first appeared in the 14 November 1952 edition - it has really maintained itself in the 'grey area' of music culture......that is wherever the majority of people find themselves attracted to....eg. during the 70's when they focused mainly on punk, which was the then big thing.

NME really took off around the mid-70's (when it became the best selling British music magazine) acquiring a reputation for the quality, intelligence and originality of its journalism.....but in actual fact much of this success was truly down to the concept which always finds NME in the greatest fanbase by ignoring the 'fringes of contemporary music culture'.

This is what created the basis of NME's success, but it is certainly not a revolutionary idea. It can be likened to the spoilt-rich-kid at junior high who only has friends because their parents buy them whichever toy or gizmo is currently popular.
