Question:

I need topics I can write on in an article I do once a month Please!!!?

The article is called "A Kid's Point of View" and I have to write it once a month to be in a monthly article. It has to be on my point of view of pretty much anything. I'm just running out of ideas. Please help I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Ok, I'm in broadcast journalism and I've worked for newspapers as an editor... so... is this a kid's newspaper or an adult newspaper? Your audience is what you should look at to determine your topic.

If it's an adult newpaper/magazine, you could write about what you think of the Media and the coverage of certain topics like War, Global Warming, Gay Marriage, President Bush... whatever. Do you hear different opinions being presented on TV or the Newspaper? If not, you could write about how it doesn't seem very fair and balanced. If yes, you could write about how you think the media is doing a good job.

You could also write about what you think about the issues above. Are they good ideas/leaders/choices? Are they beneficial/harmful to America.

You could write about certain events that happen where you live and what you like/dislike about them such as fairs or community projects. You could write about things your city should do to make it a better place to live or how they are already doing a good job.

Now... if this is a kids paper, you could get ideas from friends at school. You could write about your school or sports or music or just whatever.

Hope your column turns out well! Good luck!

P.S. I hated being reminded of this CONSTANTLY when I first started writing but when you write your opinion for a newspaper, it is called a "column." When it is strictly news it is called an "article." :-)
