could the murder of dumbledore just be a plot to relax voldemort into thinking that he can get to harry now that his main protecter is gone?

YES! I think it was staged so that Dumbledor could trick Voldemort into thinking he is dead then come back to help Harry in his time of need. I think Snape is in on it and was really just doing what they had planned!
