I really want to get a job working for Seventeen mag. or cosmo..?

i am a junior in hs but this is something i really want to do! like a beauty editor or assistant. Is this something that is a very hard job to get and very competitive? Also, what classes should i take that will put me ahead of all the rest?

First, thing first, you have to sell your soul. Publishing is dirty business and a tough road. It is not an easy job to attain. You would probably need to go to school in a place like FIT in NYC and take classes in Adobe Photoshop, art classes, journalism etc, and then kiss butt for a while. My friend has a degree from FIT and is working at the bottom of the barrel for Calvin Klein, even after her MANY internships and fashion jobs.
