National Geographic World magazine?!

Question:

National Geographic World magazine?

I can remember a picture in an issue circa late 1980's that depicted a picture of a single bolt of lightning flashing directly through a fireworks blast.
I have done a search in their archives and the entire National Geographic site and found nothing.
Perhaps my memory is failing me and it was in another publication, but I really don't think so.

And it IS NOT the picture on google of the fireworks on the left, the lightning on the right, and the comet in the middle, taken during the Australia Day celebration.

Has anyone else seen this picture, or am I mad?

Answers:

got me curious..so I looked through my back issues..The July 1993 (vol.184,no.1) has an article on Lightening. The only picture I could find with what resembles fireworks is on page 83 . It has a man sitting on a platform with a rod in his hands and a purple electrode Field that might resemble a firework explosion above him.I looked all the way back to the 1970 issues and this was the only thing that came close.
