My favorite so far has probably been "Prisoner of Azkaban".
We're introduced to Sirius Black (with a nice ironic twist, after believing he's evil for most of the book). Plus, we meet Remus Lupin and learn that Ron's poor, decrepit Scabbers is actually Peter Pettigrew. Plus, we learn a little more about Harry's father and we're introduced to those wicked Dementors.
