The man was a blind midget, the shortest one in the circus at that!. Another midget envied him because he wasn't as short, so he sawed off pieces of wood from the blind midget's cane every night!. The latter starts to think he is getting taller, and so kills himself, as his job depends solely on his short height!.

It was a midget in a circus who had a stick to measure how tall he was, when the ringmaster borrowed the stick for a walking stick or something along those lines it was too tall so he sawed some of it off, The next time the midget measured himself he thought he had grown so he commited suicide becasue he was no longer the shortest person in the world!.!.!.
