And to be a Captain I think you need to have everything to be Solid in you Experience!. Other then that, it depends on your Captain in the crew!.

You do not need a solid to be Captain, although it may be different in other oceans!. But in subscriber oceans, such as Hunter, you need to have at least narrow experience (and of course a Captain badge)!.

As for getting promoted, it all depends on the Captain who makes up the crew rules!. In my crew, Mirage, ranks are not listed in the crew info because all you need is consent from the Captain!. Still, that does not mean you will get promoted on the spot!. There are hardcore crews, such as -Frozen- and Easy Going, and you need a lot of trust from the Captain as well as good stats, Battle Navigation being one of the most important!. In some crews, for getting promoted to Officer, you need to have good stats in the main pillage puzzles (bilging, sailing, gunning, carpentry) or at least Distinguished+ in B-nav!.
