Who can work this riddle out? It's driving me mad!?!

Question: Who can work this riddle out!? It's driving me mad!!?

3 men go into a hotel!. The man behind the desk said the room is £30!.00 so each man paid £10!.00 and went to the room!.

A while later the man behind the desk realized the room was only £25!.00

So he sent the bellboy to the 3 guys' room with £5!.00

On the way the bellboy couldn't figure out how to split £5!.00 evenly between 3 men, so he gave each man a £1!.00 and kept the other £2!.00 for himself!.

This meant that the 3 men each paid £9!.00 for the room, which is a total of £27!.00, add the £2!.00 that the bellboy kept = £29!.00

Where is the other pound!?

Answers:
They should have paid by credit cardWww@Enter-QA@Com

think this way

imagine the 30$ consists of 30 one dollar bills !.!.!.!. okay

at the end of ur story

25 $ with the hotel owner
1 $ with man #one
1 $ with man #two
1 $ with man #three
2 $ with this boy
total 30

or
the hotel owner took 9 from man #one
the hotel owner took 9 from man #two
the hotel owner took 9 from man #three
man one still have 1$
man two still have 1$
man three still have 1$
total =30

the question is not mathematically correct because it add the residue in stead of the fragments

When you say that each man paid nine pounds, what you're saying is that they each lost nine pounds, which includes the price of the room and the money the bellboy kept!. You then add the money the bellboy kept a second time, instead of adding the three pounds which were refunded!. You've essentially done 25+2+2 instead of 25+2+3!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

the thing which confuses is,"This meant that the 3 men each paid £9!.00 for the room, which is a total of £27!.00" -------- like, um!.!.!. if u add the total bill which is 25 with the returened amount and amount taken by the bell boy, u will get total answer which is 30--- u know its no to b explained like if u tried t explain it, u will urself get confused, u will get the answer when u will ask it to someother else, trust me i just did it after answering ur question---------hope mine is the best----Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's often mis-calculated as the first pound goes from 0 - 99p/ 1!.00 People tend to go from 1 pound to 30 rather than 0 to 30 when working this out!. If you work backwards it's easier to work out!.

I hope that makes sense but that's the answer!. :o)

Another way of putting it is £25 for the room then

£26
£27
£28
£29
£30

So hard to explain but it makes sense to me lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

The answer is that the addition and subtraction are worked out wrong!. Instead of adding 2 pounds that the bellboy had, you are supposed to take it away from the total, leaving 25 pounds!. Add the 5 pounds the clerk gave the bellboy and you get even 30 pounds, what the three men had originally paid!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

how about dis-
the total cost of the room is 30 pounds!.The bellboy took 2pounds frm that sum!.Which leaves us wid 28pounds!.And all three people cumulatively paid 3!.Which leaves us wid 25pounds!.This was the price of the room!.Which means that there is no missing poundWww@Enter-QA@Com

damn!.!.!.I've heard this before!.!.!.and at one point I had it figured out how it made sense!.!.!.!.

It's something to do with the fact that at the end, they each paid £9 = £27 + the £3 they got back from the BellBoy = £30!.!.!.

I cant remember the exact explanation though!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The £2 that the bellboy kept is technically part of the £27 pound paid, NOT the change (which is what he gave them)!.

It's actually added up like this:

£25 + £2(tip) for the room = £27

£1 back x3 = £3 in change!.

There's your £30!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They didnt pay £9 each !.
The room was £25 ,then the bellboy gave them a £1 each = £28 and kept £2 for himself so that makes the £30!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

between u and me
I call this lost in transport :!?DD
LOL
they all payed 10
got one back
instead of the even split!.
so u are right about them only paying 27 instead of 25
so u need to subtract not add!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
