Two neighbors have a yard sale to get rid of their unwanted possessions!. they tag each item with a diffrent price in dollers, using the consecutive odd values, 1 3 5 7 and so on!. After they have sold everything they use the cash to buy as many CD's as possible at 10 dollars each!. With the remainder of the money they buy a flashlight!. Pat counts the CD's in preparation for dividing them and says "We've bought an odd number!. You take the odd CD and i'll take the flashlight" "Thats not fair to you!. A CD is worth more than a flashlight" said Tom!. "Okay, you can buy me a couple of batteries for the flaslight" After a moment though Tom says, "Right, thats exactly fair" The question is HOW MUCH DOES A BATTERY COST!?!?

i dont even know if this is a puzzle or something you should know!.!.!.i read it online and i want to know the answer!.!.!.its been bothering me!.!.please help any one know the answer to this!?!?!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
$2

if you add 1+3+5+7+9+11= 36
3 cd's = $30
$6 left over for flashlight
one has $20 worth of cd's the other has $16 worth of one cd and ond flashlight
$4 difference--- 2 batteries = $2 each

the next time an odd number of cd's can be bought is $196 also leaving $6 left over and making the batteries $2
that situation is : 1+3+5+7+11+13+15+17+19+21+23+25+27=196Www@Enter-QA@Com

i agree with darren s
