Oh, I think this is just another version of the soap radio jokes!. I've heard it as "Two something-s sitting in a tub, one says, "Pass the soap!", the other says, "What do I look like, a radio!?"
The idea of soap-radio jokes is that they actually aren't supposed to make any sense!. But they're made for telling in person so 2 or more people who hear the code words "soap" and "radio" laugh on purpose as if they got it!.
