Imagine that you are in a box!. It is made out of 20 ft!. thick metal walls and you have nothing but the clothes you are wearing!. In ten minutes a giant is going to come and eat you alive!. What can you do to escape the giant!?

**stop imagining!. Reasoning: Pretty self-explanatory!.

You are really lost in the woods, stumbling through the bushes and tripping on rocks!. Finally, you come to a sort of path!. It is only one path, so it leads in two directions: to the right and to the left!. Then you notice a boy standing on the path!. He is one of a set of twins who look exactly alike!. However, one always lies and the other always tells the truth!. What is the one question you can ask to get you home quickly and safely!?

**"Which way would your brother tell me to go to go home!?" Then go the opposite way!. Reasoning: If you have the truthful brother, he will reply truthfully!. His brother, the liar, would tell you to go the wrong way so this brother tells you the wrong way!. Hence, you go the opposite way!. If you have the lying brother, he knows that his brother would tell you the right way to go home, but he has to lie, so he tells you the wrong way, the way his brother would not have said!. Again, it makes sense to go the opposite way!.

A man is stopped by two fierce looking guards!. Guard one says: If you tell a lie we shall cut off your head!. Guard two says: If you tell a truth we shall burn you at the stake!. The they say together: Make a statement!! What is the smartest thing to say!?

**Say: You will cut off my head!. Now, cutting off your head is against the rules because they could only do that if you told a lie!. Burning you at the stake is against the rules too because then you wouldn't be telling the truth and you should have gotten your head cut off in the first place!. However, that is impossible because then you would not have lied!. Circular reasoning, but it does make sense!.

An old fellow is driving home!. It's late at night!. He's travelling along the highway, and he's some considerable distance from home!. Suddenly, he feels himself having a heart attack!. He says, "Oh my God!. It's the big one!." Thinking quickly, he takes the first available exit!.

As luck would have it, he winds up in a residential neighbourhood!. It's very late at night!. He pulls over to the side of the road behind some parked cars!. He's fading fast, but he has the presence of mind to pull out his cell phone and call 999!.

He says to the dispatcher, "I need help!. I'm having a heart attack!." She says, "Where are you!?"

And the rest of the conversation goes something like this:
He: "I don't know where I am!."
She: "What exit did you take!?"
He: "I don't remember!."
She: "Were you going north or south or east!?"
He: "I don't remember!."
She: "Can you tell me what street you're on!?"
He: "I'm in the middle of the block!. I'm parked behind some cars!. I didn't see any street signs!."
She: "Start blowing the horn!. Someone will come out of the house!."

No one comes out!.

She then asks him to do one more thing!. Minutes later, an ambulance is on its way there and saves his life!.

What did she ask him to do!?

Answer
She asked the man to give her the licence plate number of the vehicle in front of him, thinking that whoever owned the vehicle lived in that street!. Since it was a residential neighbourhood, and late at night, this is very likely!.
