Answers:
It isn't a trick!. January 1 of 1941, which occured long before the attack on Pearl Harbor, fell on a different day of the week than December 25!. Actually, this is true of every year!. The question specifies the year 1941, so don't think of the New Year's day that follows Christmas (since that is 1942) but instead, think of the New Year's day at the beginning of 1941!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The key is "In 1941!."
Yes, New Year's Day is always on the same day of the week as Christmas when you talk about the New Year's Day ATER Christmas, during the same holiday season!.
BUT, January 1, 1941 was on a Wednesday and December 25, 1941 - 12 months later - was on a Thursday!

It's because New Year's Day of 1941 would be at the very beginning of the year!. Christmas was at almost the very end!. The New Year's Day (NYD) following Christmas 1941 would actually be in the beginning of 1942!. So if you compare NYD 1941 to Christmas 1941 they would be a day apart!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
That's because Christmas falls on the same day of the week as NEXT year's New year, so when Christmas of 1941 lands on a Thursday, New Year's Day of 1941 would land on a Wednesday!.
