There is a colony of monks living on an island!. All of the monks have either brown or blue eyes, and their rules state that if one of the monks finds out he has blue eyes he has to commit suicide on the night he finds out he has blue eyes, by throwing himself off a cliff onto the jagged rocks in the sea!. However, the monks are not allowed to tell one another what colour eyes they have, nor are they allowed to look at their reflections, so no monk knows whether his eyes are blue or brown!.
One day, a missionary went to the island and as he wasn’t bound by their rules said to the monks “at least one of you has blue eyes”!. What happens next!?

If only one monk has blue eyes, that monk will know that at least one has blue eyes, and then if he sees that all the others have brown eyes he will know that he is the one with blue eyes and will kill himself!.
If two monks have blue eyes, they will know at least one has blue eyes and when they see the other blue eyed monk they will think the other must kill himself, as with the first situation, but the next day neither has killed themselves at midnight, so the other will realise that he too has blue eyes and both will kill themselves at midnight!.
If three monks have blue eyes, each will see two others with blue eyes!. They will assume the pattern of two monks will occur, yet when one sees the other two are still alive, all three will kill themselves at midnight!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
