I am a three digit number!.
My tens digit is five more than my ones digit!.
My hundreds digit is eight less than my tens digit!.

This is just an algebra question!.
Let O be the ones digit, T the tens digit and H the hundreds digit!.
T = O + 5
H = T - 8
We can substitute T into the second equation!.
H = O + 5 - 8
H = O - 3
T = O + 5
Now, there's some easy logic we can apply here!. We know that O must be no greater than four, since if it were it would be T greater than 9, which is impossible!. Likewise, we know it cannot be less than four, as that would result in the hundreds digit being 0 or negative!. So it must be four!
O = 4
H = O - 3
H = 1
T = O + 5
T = 4 + 5
T = 9
