How would the horses assist the eggman?!

Question: How would the horses assist the eggman!?
In the childrens' nursery rhyme, "Humpty Dumpty", how would the King's horses help put the broken eggman together again!?
With crazy glue not yet invented, were they thinking that horse glue would do the (adhesive) trick!?

Answers:
It is an allegory, in a chess set the horses represent the knights!.

Edit: Something I would like to know where the idea of Humpty Dumpty being an egg originated since it is never mentioned in the rhyme!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
