each of then given 25 , dollars to the waiter, waiter pays to manager and the manager gives back $5 to the waiter to give them back as discount , waiter puts $2 in his pocket and gives $1 each of them!.

The waiter pocket $2 out of that $5 and returned them $3!.

You've mixed negatives (everyone PAID 24) with positives (the waiter HAS 2)!.
