Male/female stereotype humour is simply a parody of the real differences between our genders and the different way we see the world!. Done in a non-nasty way, it eases the tension and encourages tolerance for the other's point of view!.!.
It also brings out man-hating rants from people who don't see the delicious irony in their own hateful personal attacks on an innocent bystander of the opposite gender!. Like the very vitriolic Joy!.
