Question: The police find a man dead on the floor from a gunshot wound to head. A gun is in his hand, indicating suicide. There is also a tape player next to the man. When the detective plays it, it says "I have nothing to live for" and then a shot is heard. Immediatley, the detective says "This was murder". How did he know?

the tape wouldve had to be rewound to get to that point, cos if he shot himself in the head it wouldve kept recording after the shot?

If the tape has been stopped at the end, who would have stopped it if the man shot himself??
Obviously the murderer stopped the tape, and then left the room. If the man shot himself, then the tape player would still be recording as they entered the room.
someone was holding him hostage and made him say that, and shot him, and put the gun in his hand to make it look like suicide. :P
cuz commting suicide is murder just like trying 2 kill urself is called attempted murder

because I would say that someone had to press stop, but you just said that when the detective PLAYED the tape. Not when he picked it up and just hot "Play."

It's murder because the police officer should have had to rewind the tape in order to hear his "suicide" message... I think...
that is what the killer wanted you to think probably. however to make sure all the cop would have to do is let friends and family hear the voice and if it is his than its more than likely to be suicide. unless he sounds scared or something while saying it, then it would cause a few people to think.

the tape would have had to have been rewound to get to the beggining and after the man is shot it would have kept recording. the murderer rewound it to start at that point.
Uh i am too late, but the tape recorder had to be rewound by the murderer bc if he shot himself then it would still be running.

it may have been that he heard that sentence in the midst of what was said between the murderer and the victim before the shooting... i guess
if you shot yourself, the gun would fall out of your hand. someone shot the guy, then placed the gun in his hand. also, the detective just hit play, and heard it. if the guy killed himself, the tape would have gone to the end, and the detective sould have had to rewind it to hear the message
because the shot would have been louder instead of far away. if it was a sucide the gunshot would be right next to him so it would be louder right? not like from far away
