I'd say the stupidity and the random punch line just give us a laugh and make us happy. Its a luxury and pleasure.
To laugh and have a good day. But I don't like saying my jokes or riddles to anybody because people steal them and tell them to other people and say that they made it up.
Im guessin because riddles rhymes and jokes tell funny things
they make up our day..cheer us up..and have fun...

etertainment....people nowadys love to laugh.. jokes usually have good punch lines that makes the reader want more jokes.. and for riddles they just make people wanna know the answer eally reall bad you know?
tears cleans the body and laughter heals it.
They give us something to laugh and think about
cuz there funny- and even wen im having a bad day, they can make me laugh:)
