well you only have to be the same year, not the same age, you probably have a small difference, smaller than a year

Or it could kind depend on the years such as one of you could be one year older then the other and the other is one year lesser. It kinda depends where they are born in the year.
It's kinda like for example i'm born in July and my friend is born in October so she could be 14 and i could be 13 but both in 8th grade.
