I hate this question because it has no possible correct answer. With out the egg the chicken can't be born. And chicken don't lay eggs. Hen do!
I believe in the creation of God so my answer is the Chicken. God created the chicken, and later in life the chicken laid an egg. All others belive in evolution, if they think it is the egg.

it's the chicken. like it doesn't say in the bible that god left a bunch of eggs around. he created the animals. he also created the fact that chickens lay eggs.the chicken probably came first-god wouldn't drop a few eggs on the ground for the predators to eat and the chicken become extinct!!!
the chicken came first because an egg cannot hatch without the chicken to sit on it. it needs warmth.
It was the "EASTER BUNNY" he left the eggs and then you have the CHICKEN!!?? So the EGG???
