Thanks for the 2 points - to get stars for your questions they need to be interesting, amusing, funny, smart, witty, clever, etc. You can have a star today for asking the question after that it is up to you.
Personally, I give stars when the text (the question) is interesting or funny, and I want my contacts to read it to, so they can enjoy it like I did; or if I don't know the answer, I star it, so that maybe one of my contacts can answer it.
So, basically, starring is thinking about others as well.
