Nine Marbles Riddle?!

Question: You have nine marbles. All of them are equal weight except for one which is heavier then the rest. The difference is so small that you can't tell by holding them.

You have a balance scale like the one in this picture:

Using the balance scale ONLY TWICE, how can you single out the heavier marble?

divide the nine marble into three piles of three... pick two piles and weigh them.. If the weigh the same the marble is in the third pile.. if one is heavier take that pile.. then weigh two mables from the heavier pile.. if they are the same then it's the one you didn't weigh.. if they are different, the heavier one is the one you want.

put three marbles on one side and three on the other and keep three in your pocket. if it balances, then you know the heavy marble is in the three not on the scales. Empty the scales and put those 6 marbles in your other pocket. Put two of the three suspect marbles on the scales and keep one in your pocket. If it balances, then the heavy marble is in your pocket. If it doesn't, well the heavy marble will tip the scale. If, however your scales do not balance initially with the 3 and 3, then remove the lighter 3 marbles to the pocket with the other three. With the remaining 3, put one marble on each side of the scale and the third marble in your empty pocket. If they balance, the heavy marble is in your pocket, if they don't, then the heavy marble will tip the scale. Voila!

?

1st weighing: 3 marbles against 3 marbles!
If the weight is even...all six marbles are of same weight then discard these marbles and from the remaining 3 marbles

2nd weighing: weigh one against one marble if the weight is even the the heavier marble is the one marble remaining!

However, if in the 1st weighing: one set of 3 marbles is heavier, then those three marbles will be the ones that will be weighed in the 2nd weighing!!!
