The saying is just meant to imply that people shouldn't exploit or point out the weaknesses of others if they have same vulnerability.
It's just like pot calling the kettle black. Not all kettles are black, and pots can be painted. And can pots talk?

Gardeners lives in glass houses, they like to decorate it with lots
of moss to give a "Greenhouse" Effect.
Glass houses means the house which has most part by glass.
It means not to 'shatter' ones reality...were all delusional sometimes...
it's just a wise saying, green house sounds uncomfortable
