he was a crytpo-zooligist studying a rare squirrel while practicing his role as Captian Nemo in the upcoming production of "Zephyr and me"... his perch allowed him to see the on coming flames and in a moment of somber reflection he wept, soaking his diving costume .... pity really... but there you have it.
He was scuba diving & the fire plane that drops water on a forest fire scooped him up & dropped him on the forest fire when it was scooping up more water from the body of water he has scuba diving in.
He didn't die!
