Question: Three gentlemen, Aaron, Brad, and Charles, all are moving into the same street in a new community. They have all just moved in when they realize that there is something very important missing from their house. The three of them go to a local hardware store to buy what they need. The items in question cost only a dollar for 1, but costs $2 for 10. 100 would cost $3, but buying 500 would be the same price! The three of them walk out with what they need for only $4. What is it that they bought??

just for fun =D

House Numbers! The single digit numbers cost $1, two digit numbers cost $2 and three digit numbers cost $3! They bought Number 8, 9 & 10 for a total of $4!!!

the house numbers =D

They bought four numbers for their house to display their address.

nnails

nails

They bought the numbers for their address. one number cost a dollar a peice. That's why 100 cost the same as 500, three dollars. Nice brain teaser.

House numbers wouldn't make sense. I'm sure it already came with address numbers. And nails wouldn't cost $1 for 1. I have no idea though. For sale signs. I really have no clue.
