Can you answer this classic riddle?!

Question: You have 9 coins. Eight of them are identical in every way. One of the coins looks the same, but is slightly heavier than the others. You have a simple balance scale. How can you identify the coin that is different using the scale only two times. You can put the coins on the scale in any combination you wish, but only twice. You must use the scale, you can not determine which coin is different simply by holding it in your hand.

-Put 3 coins on each tray. If the first weighing doesn't balance, remove all the coins from the lighter side, and place one coin on each tray from the heavier tray. The heavier side is the heavier coin, but if they balance, then the coin from the heavier tray from the first weighing that was not weighed in the second weighing is the heavier one.
- If the coins balance on the first weighing, remove the coins from the trays, and place 2 of the remaining unweighed coins on the trays, one on each tray. If one is heavier, it is the heavier coin, but if they balance, the remaining unweighed coin is the heavier one.

...huh?

I think u will have to start by puttin one coin at a time on each side of scale. Say u put an identical here and one there, you will have to obseve the scale.. Then u put one here n one there, see how much the scale is goind down.. When the heavier one comes, the scale will be little more down on one side than other times...................................

If this aint the answer, then i give up.

take 3 coins on one side of the scale and three coins on the other side of the scale and three coins without weighing(with u) if the scale balances it is on those three which is with u if it is not equal it is it is on the hevier side(those three on the haevier side contains the heavier coin)one weighing is over
now u now the three coins in which the coin is,second weighing one coin on each side of the scale and the remaining one with u if the scale balances ,the heavier is the one which u have in ur hand if not, the one which is on the heavier side
