It is New Years Day, she'll be nine this year. The day before yesterday ,Cora was 7, yesterday was her eighth birthday, New Years Eve. Next year she will be ten.
easy. Let's say today is January 1, 2001. This means, on december 30, 2000, she was 7. On dec. 31, 2000, she became 8 because dec 31 is her birthday. So on dec. 31, 2001 (still in the same yr), she becomes 9. Then, next yr comes. She becomes 10 on dec 31, 2002, the last day of the next year!
