30 - 2 from the guy =28

28/3 doesnt = 9 but 9.333

soooo 9.333x3=28 +2 = 30

that one is a doooozy

there is no other dollar.

if he would have given them back the 2 dollars they would have paid 25 dollars
its not out of 30 its out of 25

do you get what im trying to say

It is easy really. The dollar didn't go anywhere. Say its 25 bucks. so they gave 25 bucks. They get 3 back which is 28 and the bellhop dude keeps 2 which is 30.

25+3+2=30

I have stared at this question for like 5 minutes.... I dont know....

what the hell? their is no other dollar, they each payed $9.33 not $9 flat, so it would b 9.33 x 3 wich = about 28 and then the $2 tip the hotel worker keeps so lol

prettie much, each person payed a lill more then $9

The sale is $25 and since 25 divided by 3 is 8.33333333.....which means each only need to pay that but since they had paid $30 and had 5 left and the worker kept 2 and give them 3 it all comes out to $30 The dollar is the 3 times .33333333 which would be $1

it is a fdundamental rule within the maths questions like this that you have to rearange everything. my dad who is a maths teacher hates this question as it is presented wrong (not by you, have asked before) you have to write it down then do it a different way to understand it.

Servitude is very important as nothing worth possessing can be quite possessed you learn to share learn to circulate
that tip is a chance for those to advance
you have to become a dish washer before becoming KING'!!
never sit on your [ but now...unless you know how !!..
SO ROUND THAT BILL ,,the rest goes to those whom support
your SYSTEM [[ TIP ]] 8% of the bill plus change
[pay you bills ]

The "trick" is that the "room" now cost $27 not 25. Because the manager kept 25, and the bellboy kept 2. 25+2=27 and 9x3=27.

MATH

COST OF ROOM FOR 3 People $25 x 3 =75..00
Money Given Back To Client.. $3.00 x 3 9.00
Money Kept. $2.00 x 3 6.00
TOTAL $90.00

One Person pays $25;.00
Money Given Back 3.00
Money Kept 2.00
TOTAL $30.00

Why do people keep posting the same questions?!?!? It's either this one, the woodchuck, or the chicken and the egg.

Solution:
You present the problem incorrectly. Each person paid $9. $9 x 3 is $27. This includes the $2 kept by the worker ($25 for the room and $2 for the worker). You add the $3 given back to the customers to get a total of $30.

before I even looked how did I know it was the one about the money and bellhop

this puzzle has been so many times and so many versions. The PUZZLE is not stated correctly. There is no other dollar the bellhop keeps the extra money. The customers are paying 1/3 of the bill. that comes out to like $8.33.
