Because, the hump of his back was hurting something terrible. He had been "humpbacked" since he was a child, and simply couldn't stand the pain any longer.
The doctor "split" his back, and wrote him a prescription for three different flavors of ice cream.
He filled the prescription, and lived happily ever after.

because someone brutally ripped his skin of and tried to eat him but he got away and needs new skin..plus he is so traumatized he's going insane so he needs to go to an institution
