Anyone else thin the Sales Genie Commercials were a bit racist?!

Question: If you have not seen them....they were both animated commercials ..the two I watched featured some pretty terrible stereo types of an Indian man with 9 children and a man and woman Chinese character's voices as pandas running a bamboo furniture store as the pandas chewed bamboo and spoke in an awful accent.

Im usually not into looking too deep into commercials but I thought these were bad commercials overall with the only thing as a hook being the bad accents.

Am I alone?

You know, I consider my self an "equal opportunity offender", I actually like racially discriminated jokes. something about that ad really pissed me off though, like they could get away with it or something.
I'm oriental and it was like being called a g**k and then chided into believing it was ok.
Seriously, what angers me about it was doing something wrong and trying to make it sound right, as opposed to overtly admitting something's just "bad taste". if they were to pick on themselves for their racial ignorance, I would actually find it acceptable. It's much like Southpark's or the Simpson's approach where absurdist humor is complimented by racism. The damn thing was neither cute nor funny.
What the hell was the logic?
Pandas are native to China and therefore they speak english with that accent!?
(now THAT's funny!)

The saddest thing about this is that it adds to the company's name recognition (which is why I am not mentioning the company's name) which is the actual intent of such a bad commercial.

BTW, here's another website that has an article on the mess.

thanks for reading my 2 cents.

Yes, sorry, but if we keep making a big deal about racism, it will never go away.

You are definitely not alone!
These subtle, yet destructive marketing techniques that use cultural stereotypes perpetuate racism much more sneakily than the more overt, in your face racism. We need to be making a big deal about this - it's not funny, it's not smart, and it's not acceptable. Sales genie needs to apologize to the over 2 billion people in the world that they just insulted!!

Of course it was extremely racist. I hope this company goes out of business because of this.
