Well, I'm British, and that clip made me laugh...
and anyone who thinks that something has to be historically accurate to be funny has clearly never watched any of the 'Blackadder' series.
I think there's quite a common view abroad that the British have no sense of humour; of course we do, but the things that appeal to our sense of humour often don't translate well; like any nation, you need to have the cultural references to understand the jokes.
After all (no offence intended to any Germans here) how many non-German people find German humour funny?
(I do, but I lived in Germany long enough to get the references)

That's odd, because in the UK the Americans are reknowned for not understanding humour - and for stereotyping Britons for their dry humour.
But seriously, you're not trying to generalise an entire nationality by one incident are you? Trying to wind people up and get a response? Just hold on for the British equivalent of YOU to come on here and answer by saying 'how come the yanks are so thick' etc, then you're off.
PS: Just watched the clip. Actually found it moderately funny, but only because it was as if the Americans are taking the pi$$ out of their own attitudes to foreigners.
I couldnt get it to play properly, but we can take a joke as good as any one else. The British tend to have a dry sense of humour, not all other nationalities get us.
At least we can understand sarcasm!
