Step toe and son did you like?!

Question: Gosh an oldie but a goodie.

Answers: Gosh an oldie but a goodie.

Classic Galt and Simpson script writting,,loved them and the films,,,

Huh??

Yes, loved it. What about the one where their pool table was too big and they had to go outside and put their cue sticks through the windows? Years later, I saw another pool table scenario on another comedy, I think it was Drew Carey, where his new pool table wouldn't fit, so they played pool in the back yard till it rained. The guy who played the son, Harrry Corbett, toured with his one man show after Steptoe and Son, and when he came to this city, my mother babysat his kids and he gave her free tickets to the show. She and I went to the show and to his dressing room after, where he generously entertained the two of us. He said that at his press conference, when they asked what he was planning to see in Australia, he listed a few points of interest, and then found out later that these places were so remote and so many thousands of miles from each other, that he would need to be here months to travel to them, and he made it sound to the reporters that he would cover it all in a few day trips. And how embarrassed he was that he thought this, and that nobody corrected him. When the interview was written up, none of them mentioned his ignorance or sneered at him in any way.

for those of us from America, steptoe and son is a foreign show, Sanford and son was based on it here in the US.
