I did this in college.
When I was living in the dorms we had what are called suites. You have a dorm room bathroom dorm room set up. The other guy/guys in the room that you shared the bathroom were called suitmates. Anyway, we had a suitemate that smoked cigarettes. I got one of this little explosives you can put in a cigarette to make the cig go POW when the lit cig ignited it. One day when my suitemate was in class I went into his room (we had an open door policy) and rummaged thru his desk looking for a pack of smokes. I found one, emptied most of them out, and put one of those deep inside with a toothpick. A day or so later he came back to the dorm room all freaked out that his smokes did a loud pop was he was smoking. I got a good laugh. He was pretty upset.
Not quite high school- but placing a toilet behind a minister's office desk and hiding his chair comes to mind.

I tied 3 soda cans to my friend's tag with shoes laces. I put them where they couldn't be seen just by looking. You have to do this at night. When he drove off he thought his car was messing up the entire ride home because of the sound it makes. He even pulled over once to check his engine. It was hilarious when I finally told him... It was a good one..
me and my bf called his bestfriend and used an online jack nicholson soundboard. it was awsome, he thought he was talking to him. you should try it. it's kinda old, but w.e, it works =)

They took dead fish guts and hid it allllll over the school it was soooo funny some kids found some in their locker!
