don't know about the woman and the roaches, but i wouldn't lick an envelope. first off it taste bad and there's some chemical on there that you wouldn't want ingested. i realize that the chances of getting sick from it are remote, but why risk i?. did you know that secret services and police around the world at times used poisoned envelopes to eliminate their enemies ? finally, in this day and age of dna fingerprinting and identity theft, do you really want your dna floating around there and possibly landing in unscrupulous hands ?
It' not the most healthiest thing to do. But I always lick envelopes and nothing has ever happend to me.
If it bothers you, then use a wet rag to seal the envelope.

First of all I dont believe in it, coz roaches eggs are bean like shape smaller than a black bean so she may have noticed it before she licks the envelope and roaches offsprings wouldn't survive without the sac. Yeah you should never lick an envelope to seal it 'coz it's dirty.
I have a friend who used to work in a factory that makes those kind of envelopes. He saw me licking an envelope one day and told me to never lick them, that roaches love the sticky stuff. So I would say, yeah its possible.

The story with the woman is true. The roach had laid its egg on the sticking matter of the envelope, and the woman got them on her tongue, where they evolved into living roaches.
Also, i have read that the producers of the sticking matter (i don't know the name used in this case) use fowl water, not clean one. Imagine what risks you can get.
Use a wet piece of cloth, never yr tongue.
