Sam Jones lives on the 18th floor of an apartment building?!
Question: Every morning he rides the elevator down to the the bottom floor and walks to work. At night, he rides the elevator to the 6th floor then gets out and takes the stairs to his floor. He does not want to nor does he need to for any reason. Why does he do it? (On rainy days, he rides all the way up to the 18th floor!) Explain that too.

he is a midget and cant reach the button for the 18th floor but on rainy days he uses his umbrella to push it.

he is a dwarf...so he can only reach the 6th floor button in the elevator but during rains he has an umbrella & it helps him press the 18th floor button.
He is a dwarf, he can only reach the bottom buttons and so cnant reach the top ones to go up and when it rains he has and umbrella so he pokes the buttons!!
Probably,wants a bit of Exercise,in the 1st Instance,or to shake the dirt off his shoes, when climbing.
In the Second instance, he climbs down all those stairs, to get rid of the Dripping wet state, he is in, plus dryer shoes from Rain. Just Pray He Doesn't Slip !
