flip b oth hour glass
when 2minute one is over, begin the boiling
flip them both before you put the egg in, then right when the two minute one ends, put the egg in and leave it for the remaining 3 minutes of the five minute one
Set both hourglasses to start at the same time. When the two minute one runs out, start cooking. Ta-da! 3 minutes.
haha.. that is true.. i would put the timer for two mins and then just stand there for the last minute.lol
Tip them both over at the same time----but don't start the egg timing until the 5 minute timer has reached the same level as the 2 minute timer.
(I think)
you hang yourself in front of the stove and hope that someone smells your rotting body before your house burns down.
Mark the level of the sand on the 2 minute timer. Open it, pour the sand out then refill it to the mark with sand from the 5 minute timer. Re-seal the formerly 5 minute timer - voila - now whenever you want to cook a 3 minute egg, you got the right timer! =]
